Training

Training is one of the keys to a successful and enjoyable volunteer position.  The Thousand Islands Girl Scout Council (TIGSC) provides training for all volunteer positions to help our volunteers gain the knowledge and skills necessary to do their job competently.

Adult training is necessary for GSUSA, TIGSC, and local Neighborhood level recognitions.  A training card is signed by the trainer indicating what training was completed, when the training was completed, and how many credit hours were received.  If you do not have a training card, one will be provided for you.  While every effort is made to maintain training records at TIGSC, each volunteer is responsible for keeping their training card up-to-date and accurate.

Transferring from another Council:  If you were a volunteer in another Girl Scout Council, your training may be transferable to TIGSC.  Please show your training card(s) to your Community Membership Coordinator, and we will review it to determine which trainings may be applied for our required trainings.

Busy? We're sure you are! That's why we offer a homestudy option. Contact your Community Membership Coordinator to find out how to enroll in this program.

Our Mission Statement:
